Crockett is a squirmy Pug.
He is the 1st dog I have had my whole life where
nail clipping is virtually impossible.
I cannot use the Dog Whisperer's technique of holding
him down as he had a back injury when he was young and any
kind of struggle results in a very sore dog.
He lets me clean his eyes, and on occasion I can get an ear drop in
but everywhere else on his face is a no touch zone.
His feet - forget about it. He won't let me near them.
He is not a dog that has the "give a paw" trick in him.
He knows what these are.
I just have to make the motion of the clippers & he runs & hides.
Crockett is having a bad belly day.
His poops are leaving his body protected in gelatinous pods
and making a right mess on his backside.
Gross, I now, sorry.
I put him in the bathtub and positioned the shower head in a way that
his head was sort of trapped, looking to the right.
I called to Adam to hand me the nail clippers without
Crockett seeing. I quickly grabbed up his front left paw
and in one stealth clip.....got it!
He has one nail that is transparent - the others are black - and
it grows super fast. I didn't even get the quick! No blood no yelp!
I hope this doesn't change his love of baths.
Unlike previous dogs, he loves the bath.
So much that when I'm in it, he tries to jump in with me.
Pugs not drugs.
